The REAL meaning of Christmas!!!!

The meaning of Christmas is to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. December 25, the Lord our Savior was born from Mary. Jesus grew up like any other child those days, but Jesus was different. He would preach in the temple about His and our Father that lives in heaven.

Christmas Eve a lot of people are probably excited about receiving presents the next day. Christmas is actually not all about presents or just being with family. It’s about celebrating Jesus’ birthday. This day can never be forgotten. During Christmas people can become very greedy and sometimes not thankful. This is wrong because Christmas is not all about presents, it’s about celebrating Jesus. Did you know that when you give a present to some one it’s like giving a present to God? This is one of the reasons why I love giving presents, and I hope that’s a reason for you.

Character Clues

Tolerance (Opposite: Prejudice)
I chose tolerance as my character clue because I know a person who is very annoying. Another one of my friends is very kind to our annoying friend. I admire my friend very much because of this. It is really hard to be nice to someone who is annoying. My friend goes out of the way to make sure that they are kind. I try to be linke my friend whenever I am put into an annoying situation. Everyday I know I get better at it, but sometimes my patience is really tried hard.

Boldness (Opposite: Fearfulness)
This character clue discribes another one of my friends. She is always trustworthy. I know if I needed to tell her a secret of mine, she would keep it to herself and not gossip. I think she would keep even the most exciting secret in the world. When I think of friends who are true, she always comes to mind. She is another person I try to be like because I think this is a great character quality to have.

President Barack Obama

Barack Obama voted yes to Senate Bill S2611. This bill is a comprehensive immigration reform bill. John McCain voted yes on this too. This bill creates many new rules as well as updates and improves old ones. It allows current undocumented immigrants to be eligible to become a US citizen. The catch is they have to have lived in the United States for the past 5 years, pass a background check, pay all the taxes they owe and the fines that are for them, learn English, keep their job for 6 more years and pay a fine for breaking the law. Whoa! While that’s not impossible, there is a lot to do to get straight and be a citizen. Seems to me, they should have done it right to begin with.

If Barack Obama voted and kept legislation like this when he is our president, I think this would be a positive thing. Immigration is a huge problem facing our country. My mom says it affects every aspect of our government. She gave me examples of jobs, health insurance, and the way that other nations view our country. My Pake and Beppe came from the Netherlands on a boat through Ellis Island. They did this because they wanted to live a better life, to provide well for their family, and to have religious freedoms that we enjoy today. They came legally. It took time and money. They learned English from the TV, and my Grandfather. Then they took a test, and became a citizen of the US.

I believe this is a good bill because hopefully it will make people scared to come into our country illegally. The United States is a wonderful place to live. If we do not get a handle on our borders, we are going to have even bigger problems with our economy. It should be a privilege to be an American citizen. At least I think it is.

CC Blog

(Love OPP: Selfishness
Giving to others’ basic needs without having my motive personal reward.)I at least see a few examples of love every week that I can point out, for example: at church I see people give money without getting a reward for doing that. At my school some people give money to help the building funs for our gym. There are people who raise money for charities and that is basically giving to God.

(Responsibility OPP: Unreliability
Knowing and doing what both God and others are expecting from me.)
This character clue is in some ways hard to do, for example: one evening I finished my homework and decided to read and it was a really good book but right than I just remembered that I forgot to do one thing but I said to my self I will just do it in the morning. Even know I got it done I should have got it done that night. Now I definitely make sure my homework is all done so that it doesn’t happen again.

Economy

Our economy is in trouble, starting with taxes. It cost more to buy food, clothing, and especially gas for cars. I think that the elected officials will raise taxes even more to make money for the government. Small businesses will probably have a hard time staying open because of the higher taxes. As we talked about that in class, if some one hears that one business is going to change to a different material supplier they will pull out their stock if they do not like that place. After that more people will find out and pull their stock out then the business goes way under.

Prices on everything will go up. People will not be able to continue to buy the things they are used to. Everyone will stay home and stop going places. As well as stop spending money. When people stay home and stop spending money, the businesses they go to will close. Those businesses will have to let their employees go. Then the employees without jobs will not be able to keep their homes. The bank will take their homes back and own a bunch of homes that are not worth what the people owe on them.

Interview!

From the interviews I have learned that to become a teacher the schooling would take around 4 to 6 years to get the degrees I need. The people I interviewed shared a lot of the same favorite things about teaching. One thing is for sure is that the grading and the paper work does not sound fun. Another important trait to have is to be flexible, if I teach when I an older, I would definitely think that would be true.
They said in some cases, it is helpful to know a foreign language. I agree with them because first, I could teach the class how to speak it and second it would be fun to know how to speak a foreign language. As a student, I really enjoy learning when it is fun. If I were a teacher I would for sure want to have some fun learning games.

Our Government

Our government is one of a kind. We are blessed to live in a free country. A country founded by beliefs that our citizens should write and enforce the laws that rule our nation. This has made our government closely watched by the whole world.
I believe this is a good and a bad thing. Good, because of the examples we can set by what happens when a country is moral and follows God. Bad, because of many of the freedoms we have do not honor God or the morals that our country was started with.
Many of our citizens have moved away from using morals as a foundation to choose the right person to vote for. There is an important election coming. If I were allowed to vote, I would vote in a way that would agree with my beliefs and honor God. I believe this is the only way that America will remain one of the greatest countries in the world.
